Mr. Herrera was drinking his coffee and reading the newspaper. He did so every morning. I wish something new and exciting would happen in this town...something fabulous, he thought. He shrugged to himself and went back to his paper.
에레라 씨는 커피를 마시며 신문을 읽고 있었습니다. 그는 매일 아침 그렇게 했습니다. 이 마을에서 새롭고 신나는 일이 일어나기를 바랍니다... 멋진 일이요, 그는 생각했습니다. 그는 어깨를 으쓱하고 신문으로 돌아갔습니다.

In the paper there was a story about flying horses. Another story said a scientist had discovered how to make squares into circles.
"I have no patience for square circles or flying horses," Mr. Herrera said. "I like my circles round and my horses on the ground."
신문에는 날아다니는 말에 대한 기사가 있었습니다. 또 다른 기사에서는 과학자가 사각형을 원으로 만드는 방법을 발견했다고 합니다.

But the paper's last article was about town festivals. It said towns that don't have one are missing out on some fantastic fun!

"Now that is interesting!" Mr. Herrera said.
"We've never had a festival in our town!"

Right away, Mr. Herrera went to see Mr. Diego.
에레라 씨는 바로 디에고 씨를 만나러 갔습니다.

"Look here. Read this," Mr. Herrera said.
"여기 보세요. 읽어보세요." 에레라 씨가 말했습니다.

Mr. Diego carefully read the article to his lifelong friend. "I don't get it," Mr. Diego said.
디에고 씨는 평생 친구에게 기사를 주의 깊게 읽어주었습니다. "이해가 안 가요." 디에고 씨가 말했습니다.

"It says that for fantastic fun we should have a festival. So, let's have one!"
"
굉장한 즐거움을 위해 축제를 열어야 한다고 나와 있잖아요. 그럼 축제를 열자고요!"

"Well, all right!" Mr. Diego said.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"좋아요!" 디에고 씨가 말했다.
"왜 말하지 않았어?"


"I just told you," Mr. Herrera said.
"And there is no time like the present.
So let's get started."
"방금 말씀드렸잖아요." 에레라 씨가 말했다.
"지금보다 더 좋은 때는 없습니다.
그러니 시작합시다."

"I believe you're right," Mr. Diego said.
"What time are we expecting Edward today?
I can't wait to tell him our idea to see what he thinks."
"당신 말이 맞는 것 같아요." 디에고 씨가 말했다.
"오늘 에드워드가 몇 시에 올까요?
우리의 아이디어를 그에게 전하고 그가 어떻게 생각하는지 보고 싶어요."

Every morning, Edward helped out his grandpa, Mr. Diego, before he went to school. Edward was the best helper.
He also made incredible piñatas.

"Did you call me, Grandpa?" Edward asked.

"Well, we thought we should have one," Mr. Diego said. "Many people in our small town don't know one another.
We could give them a chance to meet and have fun. Could you help us out?"

"Of course," Edward said. "When is the festival? Where is it?"

"How about we have it this Saturday?"
Mr. Diego asked.

"In the pavilion in the park," Mr. Herrera said. "Up the hill from the field."

"I'll make invitations and deliver them to everyone," Edward said.

"물론이죠." 에드워드가 말했다. "축제는 언제예요? 어디서요?"

디에고 씨가 물었다.

"We can do a potluck, where every person brings one dish," Mr. Diego added.

"And everyone can bring an instrument or their singing voice," Mr. Herrera said.

"Well, let's get started. It's already
Monday!" Mr. Diego said.

"모두가 한 가지 요리를 가져오는 팟럭을 할 수도 있어요." 디에고 씨가 덧붙였습니다.

"그리고 모두가 악기나 노래를 가져올 수도 있어요." 에레라 씨가 말했습니다.

Edward made ten piñatas. Mr. Herrera swept out the pavilion in the park. Mr. Diego told his customers about the festival.
After school, Edward made 50 invitations!
He ran by the grocery to show his grandpa. "Look!"

"That is fantastic!" Mr. Diego said. "Do you need help delivering them?"

"Thanks, but I can handle it," Edward said, and off he went. He couldn't wait to ask a couple of his buddies to help out with his mission.4
에드워드는 피냐타 10개를 만들었습니다. 에레라 씨는 공원의 파빌리온을 청소했습니다. 디에고 씨는 손님들에게 축제에 대해 이야기했습니다.

Edward and his friends ran from house to house.

"We're having a festival this Saturday," Edward said. "Here's an invitation. It will be lots of fun!"

Edward ran so fast around town that when he finished, it was only lunchtime.

He went by the pavilion in the park to find Mr. Herrera. He was putting up decorations.

"I am so excited," Mr. Herrera said. "I heard you made some incredible piñatas."

"I heard you are practicing your guitar,"
Edward said. "And Grandpa is going to sing."

그는 공원의 파빌리온을 지나 에레라 씨를 찾았습니다. 그는 장식을 하고 있었습니다.

When Saturday arrived, Edward brought his gigantic piñatas up to the pavilion one by one. They were heavy with candy.
He and his grandpa hung them up around the pavilion.

"Do you think anyone will come?"
Edward asked.

"I hope so," Mr. Diego said. "We can't have a fun festival without the fantastic people."

토요일이 되자 에드워드는 거대한 피냐타를 하나하나 파빌리온으로 가져왔습니다. 사탕이 가득 들어 있었습니다.
그와 할아버지는 파빌리온 주변에 피냐타를 걸어 두었습니다.

First, Mr. Herrera came. He looked handsome in his bright blue suit. He had his guitar and a big basket of fruit.

Then, from across the field and up the hill, many people came. Each had an instrument. Each had a dish of food.
Each was smiling.
먼저, 에레라 씨가 왔습니다. 그는 밝은 파란색 정장을 입고 잘생겼습니다. 그는 기타와 큰 과일 바구니를 가지고 있었습니다.

The festival was FUN! The food was tasty! The music had zip! No one wanted the day to end. As the sun went down and music filled the night, Mr. Diego, Mr. Herrera, and Edward stood up on the stage. Everyone cheered.

"Hooray for the fantabulous fantastic fun festival!"

축제는 재밌었어요! 음식은 맛있었어요! 음악은 굉장했어요! 아무도 하루가 끝나기를 바라지 않았어요. 해가 지고 음악이 밤을 가득 채우자, 디에고 씨, 에레라 씨, 에드워드가 무대에 섰어요. 모두가 환호했어요.
